Having faced hard times in recent years by going for eight years without winning a single cup, Arsenal still has some greatest moments that fans and players alike will always treasure. Outlined below are top five most memorable and greatest moments in Arsenal history.

1. Arsenal Unbeaten

This is one of the most remarkable times of Arsenal history and it occurred in the period between May 2003 and October 2004. They became the first team to finish the season unbeaten since Preston North End. They played 49 games, won 36 of them, drew 13 and lost absolutely zero games.

This was also the time that Arsenal broke Nottingham Forest’s 42 game unbeaten record by creating the 49 game unbeaten record of their own.

Their first win of this lucky season came when they beat Southampton 6-1. They came close to losing their winning streak when they went to Old Trafford to face Manchester United, but luck was on their side because Ruud Van Nistelrooy smashed a penalty against the bar and later the tension-filled match ended in a goalless draw.

During that season they won the title at White Hart Lane and simply avoided defeat on the rest of their matches.

2. The Great Coming Of Arsene Wenger

Things took a positive turn when the Frenchman signed on as the team’s manager at Highbury. He is renowned for having natured some top players who are current big names in football. Wenger led the club to four FA cup wins, four Charity Shields and of course the three Premier league titles.

He is simply one of the best mangers Arsenal club has ever had and the day he came to Arsenal will always be remembered.

3. Arsenal’s Victory Over Real Madrid in Bernabeu

This is one of the most unforgettable moments for Arsenal, being a Champions League night. A single goal from the legendary Thierry Henry confirmed the thrashing of Real Madrid right in their home ground; Arsenal also became the first English team to beat Real Madrid at home.

4. Clinching The Title At White Hart Lane

This happened in the year 2004 when they got the much needed one point after a 2-2 draw thanks to great goals by Vieira and Pires which were later equalized by the Spurs’ Redknapp and Keane. They won and celebrated their coveted trophy right in the home of their rivals.

Many Arsenal fans and players alike look back at this moment with lots of nostalgia.

5. The Great Move to Emirates Stadium

Building the Emirates stadium which is the current home for Arsenal was done for some years to ensure it has enough capacity and facilities for the smooth running of matches. The departure from Highbury a place that holds some great memories for Arsenal was a bit sad, but a great moment for the team and fans because they were moving to the state-of-the-art stadium where they could watch and play the beautiful game.

The team looks forward to winning trophies in this stadium and even though it’s been years they still look forward to the day, which will of course be added to the list of greatest moments.
