Hector Bellerin is hot property right now.

His impressive displays since breaking into the Arsenal first team 18 months ago have earned him a reputation as one of the finest right-backs in the Premier League.

Recently, Manchester City have been linked with the Spaniard, as they look for a younger replacement to current right-backs Bacary Sagna and Pablo Zabaleta.

Bellerin is certainly be a player that would improve City. For all the experience Sagna and Zabaleta offer, Bellerin provides pace on the right-side, as well as an attacking threat and defensive solidarity.

Last season, Bellerin made five assists - the joint most for any defender in the league. Not only does his speed help him gain good attacking positions, but his crossing ability has improved substantially also.

Furthermore, the high level of consistency shown by Bellerin throughout his Arsenal career so far at such an early age points to the fact that he could be up there with the world’s best in years to come.

Over the past week or so, Manchester City’s frailties in defence have been exposed, with the club conceding three goals against Celtic in midweek and a further two during their damaging defeat at Tottenham on Sunday. And with Sagna and Zabaleta not getting any younger, Bellerin would add an extra dimension to their backline. Therefore, a move for the 21-year-old, either in January or in the summer, would make sense.

However, despite rumours that Bellerin would like to work under Pep Guardiola, it would take a hefty amount to prize the defender away from Arsenal, considering that his current contract with the Gunners runs out in 2019.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester City are ready to pay big for such a highly-rated defender who is only going to get better.
