In official news, Birmingham City defender Jonathan Spector is set to depart the club for the MLS.

The USA international previously played for West Ham and Manchester United.

As reported by Goal:

“Birmingham City manager Gianfranco Zola has confirmed that defender Jonathan Spector will leave the club and move to Major League Soccer.

Spector, 30, has six months remaining on his contract and the Championship club will allow him to leave early and join a team before the 2017 MLS season begins.

“I am a little bit disappointed and sad that Joanthan Spector will be leaving us,” Zola said in quotes published in the Birmingham Mail. “He deserves that. He’s going to go home and I wish him all the best.”
