Money has gone off the rails in the football world, as the Chinese Super League continues to grab the headlines.

According to the latest reports, Boca Juniors star Carlos Tevez has been offered a world-record contract deal of £615,000 per week from Shanghai Shenhua.

As reported by ESPN FC:

“Boca Juniors president Daniel Angelici is resigned to the idea of losing star forward Carlos Tevez as the former Manchester United and Manchester City player considers a tempting offer from China.

Tevez is considering an offer to join Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua that sources have told ESPN FC is worth a world-record £615,000 ($760,632) per week.

Angelici told La Red Radio, as reported in La Nacion newspaper: “I have a very close relationship with Carlos and my hunch is that it will be very difficult for him not to leave. As a fan and as the [club] president, I want him to stay, but when one looks at the numbers and the offer that he has from China, it’s very strong. It’s almost impossible that he will continue.”

Tevez, 32, is under contract with Boca until June 2018 and was given a standing ovation at the Bombonera stadium after being substituted in the 90th minute in Sunday’s 4-1 win over Colon. During that game in which Tevez scored his team’s second goal, Boca fans chanted: “Carlitos [Tevez] is Boca’s and will not leave Boca.”

The Buenos Aires-born player, who returned to his boyhood club last July after two seasons at Juventus, recently spoke about the pressures of playing for Boca and hinted that he would be open to another experience abroad.”
