The latest rumor about the Gunners comes all the way from the Ukraine, the player plays for one of the Champions League’s best surprises in Shakhtar Donetsk. The player is being touted to go to Arsenal is Brazilian attacking midfielder, Willian Borges da Silva or just simply Willian.
Willian is a Brazilian U-20 international who was born on August 9, 2021 and is 5 ft 7 in tall. He started his career at Corinthians, where he became one of the stars of the league and was touted for a bright future and a transfer to a top European club. He primarily plays in the left side of midfield, either as an attacking midfielder or winger, but can also play on the right as well or in central midfield, displaying his versatility. He’s known, as most Brazilians are known for, for his excellent dribbling ability, passing range and good shooting ability. He is a very gifted player, who has the ability to the score classy goals, as displayed by his goal vs Roma in the Champions League. He has so far made 37 appearances in all competitions this season with Shakhtar, scoring four goals and creating six more, and overall he has made 156 appearances, scoring 20 goals ever since he arrived at Shakhtar, in the 2007-2008 season. He has been one of the stars of the Champions League alongside his teammates Douglas Costa, Luiz Adriano, Darijo Srna, etc. He is still young and if he continues at this rate, he’ll become a top-class player.
This player has been linked with the best clubs in the world including Arsenal, Barcelona, Inter, and Chelsea. He is valued at around 22 million pounds by the press, but from what I’ve seen of him, he’s worth a bit less than that, probably in the 12-18 million pound range. No matter how much he’ll be bought for and whatever he goes to, if he continues at this rate, that club will have a world-class player in their hands.
Here are some clips displaying his talent:
What do you think? Is he a top talent? Is he worth 22 million pounds? Should Wenger sign him?
