Antonio Conte is set to lure Juventus with an offer they cannot refuse in a bid to land Leonardo Bonucci.
According to The Sun, Conte is set to offer Juve £48 million plus Nemanja Matic to bring the Italian centre-back to Stamford Bridge.
Bonucci has played in a back three for Juve all season and would seamlessly assimilated into his 3-4-3 formation.
The Verdict
Bonucci looks set to leave Turin this summer, and Chelsea looks like the likeliest destination.
Reports have emerged throughout the season of multiple bust-ups between him and Juve coach Allegri.
Allegri is said to been have tired of Bonucci’s dissent and is hopeful of cashing in on the defender before he enters into the wrong side of 30.
Bonucci won 3 Serie A titles under Conte’s management – one would imagine he shares a close connection with Conte and would welcome a return of the partnership.
This deal looks probable, the only element of doubt remaining in the fee and whether or not Matic will be offloaded by Chelsea.
