Eden Hazard: A Future Ballon D’Or Winner?

The Messi-Ronaldo Ballon D’Or duo-poly has been going on for a decade now, the last player to win the prestigious award besides the two of them is retired Brazilian footballer Kaka.

With the Ballon D’Or ceremony long been held, we take a look at players who could take over once Messi and Ronaldo’s dominance is over.

Here’s a list of potential future Ballon D’Or winners

Neymar Jr

There is no doubt that Neymar is at the moment the closest player to Messi and Ronaldo’s level.

The world’s expensive player finished as the third runner-up at the 2017 FIFA Awards, and is one of the favourites to claim the prize in the near future.

Neymar has an impressive goal scoring record for both club and international teams. Neymar possesses great dribbling and finishing skills with both his feet that earned him comparisons to Brazilian legend Péle.

Eden Hazard

The Belgian dribbling wizard has been on many occasions tipped as a future Ballon d’Or victor. His dazzling speed and trickery dribbling is nightmarish to his opponents.

Hazard won the Premier League Player of the Season in the 2014/15 season after an impressive season for Chelsea scoring 14 goals in 38 league appearances and helping them win the league

Paulo Dybala

The Argentine forward’s numbers for Juventus are impressive and prove that Dybala without a doubt has the potential to become a future Ballon d’Or winner.

Dybala scored over 50 goals for Juventus and was shortlisted last season for the UEFA Champions League Forward of the Season alongside Messi and Ronaldo after helping his side Juventus finish runners-up.

Dybala will in the future have his sights on the Ballon d’Or award.

Kylian Mbappé

The teenage sensation has already taken European football by storm, being the youngest scorer for AS Monaco at the tender age of 17.

He guided Monaco to their first Ligue 1 victory after 17 years, scoring 26 goals in 44 games (all competitions) before joining French giants PSG on a season-long loan earlier this year.

Advantageous enough, age is on his side, and with a few good seasons under his sleeve we could see him being the future Ballon D’Or winner

Ousmane Dembele

A future Ballon d’Or contender could very well be another young French plying his trade in Spain.

Though his move to FC Barcelona was hampered by an unfortunate injury, Dembele had a remarkable season in the Bundesliga for his previous club Borussia Dortmund scoring 10 goals and bagging 21 assists before his £96m move to Barcelona.

Dembele is a quality player and has undeniable class that set him apart from the rest,he has incredible number of take-ons completed.Should he recover well on time, and continue where he left off with his consistent performances of sheer class then the future is bright for him and Ballon d’Or prize may just be in his future.
