Gareth Bale took to social media on Saturday to celebrate his stunning display in Real Madrid’s 6-nil drubbing of Celta Vigo. In a campaign hugely blighted by injuries, Bale was glad to get among the goals with two beautiful strikes.

In the end, however, the Spurs faithful hijacked his Tweet, welcoming him back to the club. Bale has recently been linked with a return to North London. According to Don Balon, an agreement has been reached over a summer return.

Bale signed for Madrid from Spurs back in 2013. After five years with Los Blancos, he has become a core part of the team and has impressed with brilliant performances every season. Even though not on a regular basis.
This campaign, Bale has scored 18 times in 36 games in all competitions, assisting a further four. He has suffered a number of minor injury problems, including a string of issues in 2017 which saw him miss 24 games for Madrid that year.
Zinedine Zidane has had to improvise in the Welshman’s absence such that he hasn’t been able to find his way back. Mauricio Pochettino could just be that catalyst to arouse his career.
Bale will almost seamlessly walk into Spurs’ current team, taking the place of either Dele Alli or Son Heung-min. Should Pochettino decide to use him from his favourite left flank, then the South Korean could be affected.
Bale would come along with pace, exposure and European experience having won the Champions League thrice. In fact, the 28-year-old has everything. He’s great in the air, strong, can run long distances and has a venomous shot.
Tottenham is clearly over-reliant on Harry Kane for goals. That would definitely change should the ex-Southampton superstar arrive. Bale will lighten the workload on the Englishman and also enhance his productivity.
