“Get him and sell Keita”- Why Liverpool should heed to this fan’s POV

Not all player departures bring forth bad blood. A perfect example is Thierry Henry who was welcomed with open arms back to Arsenal after dumping them for Barcelona.

Philippe Coutinho toured the same route to Camp Nou, yet the Reds’ faithful are still clamouring for a return. Like a prodigal son, some Liverpool fans have urged Coutinho to come back to Anfield less than one year after leaving. The Brazilian had grown frustrated with the Reds’ lack of silverware.

He was promptly vindicated by clinching the Spanish La Liga in just six months with Barcelona. The Reds, meanwhile, again crashed at the last hurdle against Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

That may not add up for the Brazilian who has been reduced to a mere squad player, behind Ousmane Dembele, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi. He’s managed just nine starts in this current campaign.

And according to The Evening Standard, his woes could be compounded as Barcelona wants to bring Neymar back to Catalonia.

The good news is they are willing to offload to Coutinho. Liverpool fans want Jurgen Klopp to capitalise and bring the 26-year-old back to the club. For that to happen, they have earmarked Naby Keita for a return to the Bundesliga.

The ex-RB Leipzig midfielder has been a disaster in Merseyside, struggling with injuries, and consistently bereft of hunger and desire. Even the unheralded Fabinho has leapfrogged him in the pecking order.

Tactically and technically gifted, Coutinho will bring flair back to Klopp’s team. His skillful antics on the ball and ability to weave past defenders will complement Mohamed Salah and co.
