REPORT: Welbeck set to join Arsenal’s attacking exodus

Danny Welbeck is set to join the attacking exodus that looms over Arsenal, reports TalkSport.

With Alexis Sanchez all but out the door, his coat tails snagging, and Mesut Ozil seeking a move away, Arsene Wenger faces losing another facet of his attack.

Besiktas have been reported as having held talks with the English striker’s representative over a possible move.

The Turkish club recently lost star striker Cenk Tosun to Everton and are looking to reinvest the £27 million fee they received.

The Verdict

Wenger’s squad already looks bleakly depleted, Alexandre Lacazette has not scored in nine matches and Alex Iwobi is focussed more on cutting shapes in night-clubs.

If Wenger is prepared to let Welbeck leave, he simply must bring in someone to replace him in this window.

Bordeaux’s Malcolm looks to be arriving shortly, but Arsenal will need another striker to shoulder the burden should Welbeck depart.

Threadbare attacking options for Mr. Wenger await if he does not act decisively.
