EPL Predictions: Tottenham to rub more salt in Manchester City’s wounds?

Southampton v Chelsea (Prediction 2-1)

Saturday afternoon kicks off at St Mary’s where Mark Hughes’ struggling Southampton side face Antonio Conte’s struggling Chelsea side, both clubs struggling in different ways.

Southampton are in a relegation battle, whilst Chelsea are putting up another horrific title defence. The Saints have won just five league games all season. Chelsea just go from bad to worse, though have largely dominated this fixture in recent years.

I think Southampton might take this though.

Burnley v Leicester (Prediction 1-1)

I often go for 1-0 to Burnley in games like this and with Leicester not on their best form, I was tempted. But I think Leicester will just do enough to take a point here.

If I am right about this outcome, I don’t think either team will have any complains as they look to be more than safe.

Crystal Palace v Brighton (Prediction 2-1)

A big rivalry down south, neither side will be taking this lightly.

I’m predicting Crystal Palace to get revenge for Glenn Murray’s late winner that saw Brighton knock the Eagles out of the FA Cup in January.

Huddersfield v Watford (Prediction 1-0)

Both sides aren’t on the best of runs and this is a difficult game to predict, but Watford’s away form hasn’t been fruitful. I’m going with Huddersfield to edge this one with home advantage.

Swansea v Everton (Prediction 2-2)

It’s been a while since Everton beat Swansea at the Liberty Stadium, December 2013 to be precise.

I have always believed that Swansea are a better team when playing at home, thus forgiving them for a 1-1 draw at West Brom last week (that I correctly predicted by the way).

I do think Everton will take some beating, even though the Toffees away form hasn’t been great this season. Score draw.

Liverpool v Bournemouth (Prediction 2-1)

The evening slot sees AFC Bournemouth travel to Anfield as they face Liverpool who are in fine mood after reaching the semi-final of the Champions League, beating Manchester City in both legs to get there.

The Cherries will be hoping these achievements will have got to the Merseyside clubs heads and offer them a greater chance of getting a result. This game has in recent times put on some high scoring displays and it wouldn’t be a surprise should they do so again.

I think Liverpool will take this, but not as comfortably as they did (4-0) at the Vitality stadium in December.

Tottenham v Man City (Prediction 2-1)

The late kick-off is another difficult one to predict.

City smashed Tottenham in December, their first win over the North London club since May 2015 but they head to Wembley on Saturday night on the worst possible form, despite being so close to confirming themselves as Premier League champions.

They’ve lost three games in a row, all of them huge games and Tottenham will do everything they can to make that four.
