Ahead of next year’s March release of Chile jersey, some section of the media has spotted the jersey to be worn by Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez. Footyheadines.com claim the jersey is slated to be released next year with other Nike-produced kit.
According to the leaked kit, it’s going to be a plain red jersey with no special design inscribed on it. With the normal blue collar and national team badge present, the jersey is obviously one of the plain colour jerseys still around.
Knowing fully well that they won’t be participating in the World Cup, the jersey will be sported for their friendlies next year.
Sanchez and his teammate missed out on the World Cup play-off spot on the last day of the qualifiers by two goals which nudged Peru to finish ahead of them on the South America qualifications table.
With Peru eventually beating New Zealand in the play off, they will be playing in the World Cup, a slot Chile could have taken. Back to back Copa America triumphs was not enough to help them book a place at the greatest football spectacle in the world.
Sanchez will be hoping to improve on his goalscoring tally for both club and country. The Arsenal star is currently the highest goalscorer for his country and currently has four goals to his name for the Gunners this season.
