Chelsea Won 0 | Draw 3 | Lost 2

Two old foes will renew their rivalry in Saturday’s Premier League clash at Anfield as Liverpool aim to extend their unbeaten run against Chelsea.

Despite their pedigree, both clubs endured slow starts to the season. Chelsea have won 8 games, lost on 3 occasions and drawn once while Liverpool only won 6 times, drawn 4 times and lost twice in 12 games.

While lack of potency in front of goals is not a problem for Liverpool, their woeful defending have been their downfall and if they don’t fix their shaky defence it may become a crisis.

That was evident in Tuesday’s Champions League clash away to Sevilla scoring 3 goals in the first half only for Sevilla to score 3 and equalise in the second half thanks to poor mediocre defending. Jurgen Klopp’s men conceded 17 times in 12 games, the most by any team in the top 5.

Premier League champions Chelsea on the other hand don’t have a problem with defending and have only conceded 10 goals in 12 games. Chelsea are third in the table with 25 points, 9 points behind leaders Manchester City and will be hoping to close the gap between them and second placed Manchester United who are only a point ahead.

Liverpool on the other hand are seating at position 5 with 22 points, anything other than a win will put the Reds under pressure.
